New Season, New Look for Stuart Speedway
Stuart, IA (February 8) – With snowflakes in the air and frozen ground underfoot, it’s easy to put racing out of mind for a time. But just as the racers and crews prepare cars and haulers for a new season, the staff at Stuart Speedway has been hard at work revamping the pits, the website and readying themselves for another successful season of racing!
Opening night will be May 5th with all regular classes lining up by a draw/redraw format. After a successful 6 night run last year, the high flying IMCA Late Models return this season starting on May 19th. The following week, May 26th, will see the return of The Ron Little Memorial with Micro Sprints and Mod Lites joining in the fun. The Micro Sprints return after a lengthy absence and Mod Lites look to regain their past glory at the Speedway following a 2 year hiatus. June 23rd will see the 2nd annual Stew Hansen Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Stock Car Shootout. This race was one of our jewels for 2012, and no doubt will continue to impress in 2013. August 4th will see the Season Championship for the IMCA Late Models with the rest of the classes celebrating their titles on August 25th. Wrapping the season up for the second year in a row will be Kinzie Service's Night Before the Nationals Special. This race drew cars from all over the United States in 2012 and going by what I heard from drivers at last year’s IMCA Supernationals in Boone, it will grow quite a bit in 2013!
As always we couldn’t do what we do without the support of all our drivers, crews, fans and sponsors. All of us at Stuart Speedway appreciate your enthusiasm and involvement and hope you will join us for another season of dirt slinging excitement at the fastest bullring around!
